Hello!
I am Taina Meriläinen, a Porvoo-based visual artist and illustrator in Finland. I have an MA in art education from the University of Art and Design Helsinki. Currently, I am working on my master's thesis on visual communication design for Aalto University. I have worked with pattern design, children´s books, comics, drawing, painting, ceramics, and public art. Zines are close to my heart.
I like to express myself with various techniques. At the moment, I am exploring the possibilities of ink and dry brush. Intuition, playfulness, and storytelling are at the core of my art. In my work, I often study humans´ relationship with nature and other species. I take my inspiration from everything I see, hear, or read. My worldview relies on kindness and hope.
